The European Luscombes is a friendly community, keen to promote the Luscombe Silvaire aircraft, through regular fly-ins and rallies. Whether you are a Luscombe owner, pilot, flying lover or simply keen on Luscombes, we are keen to share your thoughts, ideas and experiences.
We welcome Luscombe owners from Europe and around the world, and are keen to know more about your trials and tribulations. This website is full of useful information concerning the Luscombe aeroplane (or airplane!), with lots of support, both technical and flying.
In Kansas, during1933, the Luscombe aircraft company was founded by the well respected aircraft designer Donald Luscombe. He believed that the existing tube-and-fabric method of construction was both expensive and inefficient and planned to create a light all-metal monocoque construction aircraft.
During WW1 Donalde had volunteered for duty in France, where he served as an ambulance driver receiveing a citation for valour for this service.
